A first and hopefully the last...

I had to call 911 this morning. It wasn't anything life threatening but I didn't know what else to do. Jack somehow managed to get his leg wedged between the rails of his crib. I heard him screaming shortly after I put them down for the morning nap. I walked in and this is what the poor guy looked like.

His leg was wedged in the crib very tight. I could only get it out up to his knee without hurting his leg even more. He was crying which in turn made Reid cry.  I called Mike and no answer, my family was all out of town, the neighbors were not at home so I figured the next option was 911. Luckily they arrived in about 3-4 minutes. Two guys managed to pull the crib sides apart enough while the other guy pulled his leg out. Besides his leg being a little red and swollen it seems to be back to normal. I'm glad that ordeal is over with!

Here he is in between crying...you can see where his knee was just a bit too big to fit out. Ouch!

Do we look like our Mama?

Jack

 Reid

 Me

Okay so I know the blond hair and blue eyes throw everyone off, but I think that maybe they look a bit like me?! I have no baby pictures of Mike to compare it to so maybe I'm wrong. I just saw this picture of me at my Mom's house and thought it was funny.

Summer

The weather has been beautiful and we are enjoying the summer. I wish this time of year would never end. Playing in the backyard, running in the sprinkler, going to the park, trips to the pool, visiting the zoo, and endless popsicles are a few of our favorite things.

Joe and Grace at the pool! I'm not sure Grace could even see out of the goggles.

Jack loves playing fetch

Even Diesel is enjoying the heat

4th of July weekend

We enjoyed the long weekend and having Daddy home with us four days in a row! We took a day trip to my parents cottage in Canada on Sunday. It was a fun day of playing on the beach and chasing the kids all around. It was the first time this summer for the twins to visit the cottage so everything was very new and exciting. They loved the lake and they loved trying to eat anything they could find on the beach. Needless to say Mike and I were very tired by the end of the day. Of course none of the kids fell asleep in the car on the way home! Luckily we got to the border and I think the guy had some sympathy for us. Mike rolled down the window in the back and the guy saw three whining kids and two dogs. Mike handed him the papers and the guy quickly waived us through. THANK YOU!!
Last year we were not so lucky on one visit. We got pulled over for a random search and they told us EVERYONE had to get out of the car. I think I almost started to cry. Really?! How could they do that to us. Now everytime we just hope that doesn't happen again.

Some recent and random pictures from my phone....

At the pool eating pretzels

At her first dentist appointment. She loved it!

Playing in the sprinkler in their clothes. Sometimes it's too much of a production to change both of them into their bathing suits

Passed out after the long day at the cottage.  No paci anymore, it's officially gone after three years! It was a very sad goodbye :-(
